SubRosa is a collectively run anarchist community space, a place to meet others and challenge our assumptions and act on our passions. We strive to create a vibrant environment for events, classes, meetings, organizing, performance, art, studying and more. SubRosa also offers radical literature for sale, and houses the Anarchist Lending Library. We welcome folks to join us in fostering an environment free from coercion, sexism, homophobia, racism, and other hierarchies.

Defending the Land in Northern California
A presentation by Will Parrish
Friday, May 24th - 6pm
@ SubRosa
703 N. Pacific Ave
Highway construction, land and water grabs and deforestation pose major threats to California’s North Coast bioregions. But to paraphrase Foucault, where there is destruction by state and corporate power, there is also resistance.
This presentation will describe several direct action resistance movements in the North Coast region in recent years, with a major focus on the anti-highway struggle in Willits. The Willits Bypass threatens greater destruction of wetlands than any project in Northern California in the last 50 years.
Come hear inspiring stories of community efforts to defend the land, and learn about plans for future action this summer and beyond and how you can lend support!
Will Parrish is a journalist and anarchist who lives in Ukiah.

And come to SubRosa for our open hours, Wed, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 2pm-7pm and Friday from 10am-2pm.

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
Keep up the wonderful work , I read few articles on this web site and I conceive that your blog is very interesting and has circles of fantastic information.
