3rd Thursday! Women, Trans, and Queer Open Mic!

 
Every 3rd Thursday of the month we reserve the stage for Women, Trans, and Queer folk though everyone is invited and encouraged to come enjoy the show.  And there is rumored to be a puppet show at this one. 

Signups for performance at 7:30 fill up quickly, and it begins at 8pm.  Bring your creativity and artistic inspiration. $3-7 at the door.  No one turned away for lack of funds.  Donations directly benefit this community-supported space.

Friday, May 16th, 8pm- Join us for the 4th film of the Pagan Film Series

SORCERESS (Le moine et la sorcière):  A Dominican friar visits a 13th-century French village in search of heretics. Despite the opposition of the local priest and the indifference of the villagers, he finds a seemingly perfect suspect: a young woman who lives in a forest outside the village and cures people with herbs and folk remedies. This series is an opportunity to come together, to watch engaging films, and also to engage each other, to share thoughts and experiences, and to create more of an overlap of the many social circles that exist in this town.  And presented by Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-In and Community Seed.

No money. No trades. Everything is free.

This market is based on a gift-economy and thinks capitalism sucks. Bring food to share. Bring your special items that you don't use but can't throw away (ex. clothes, toys, art supplies, instruments, books and zines...your free box). Bring your special talents to offer people (ex. haircuts, message, reiki...). Come and take what you can use and say thanks! We will have folks to check in with as you arrive. First come first served, space may be limited.  If you bring things, you are expected to take away whatever is left at the end of the market.

We ask you to support SubRosa during our Spring/Summer 2014 Fundraiser (with a way to donate online!), and of course you can also come to SubRosa during our open hours and drop off a donation.  Our goal is to collect $2,500 by the end of summer.
