Really Really Free Market! House Warming for Fábrica! Welcome Project Pollinate! Hang out & BBQ & fun! Folk Punk Night! Yeah!
Bring yourself, a friend (or two) and food to share. Do you play music? Then bring an instrument as well and fill the courtyard with music too.
And part of the intention around this gathering is for us to get to know each other better. As the Hub is a community space this is a way for us to foster that sense of community amongst each other.
There is also the Really Really Free Market at SubRosa from noon-3pm the same day! Come bring and receive stuff at the free market as well!
Really Really Free Market: No money. No trades. Everything is free. This market is based on a gift-economy and thinks capitalism is terrible. Let's share what we got and give freely. Bring food to share. Bring your special items that you don't use but can't throw away (ex. clothes, toys, art supplies, instruments, books and zines...your free box). Bring your special talents to offer people (ex. haircuts, message, reiki...). Come and take what you can use and say thanks! We will have folks to check in with as you arrive. First come first served, space may be limited. If you bring things, you are expected to take away whatever is left at the end of the market.

And in a week, Wednesday 5/25, at SubRosa!
Abuse and Patriarchy: A Three-Part Workshop on Wednesdays May 25, June 1, June 8, 7:30pm: a three-part workshop about unity and struggle (at SubRosa)
study guide and curriculum available at http://unityandstruggle.org/2016/04/23/learning-to-fight-learning-to-heal/ free and open to the public.
brought to you by the public school project. more info at https://publicschoolsantacruz.wordpress.com/2016/05/02/abuse-and-patriarchy-a-three-part-workshop-about-unity-and-struggle/ and other offerings also available at the website
Info from the above link: Learning to Fight, Learning to Heal. Like everybody else, Unity and Struggle members have grappled with how to address abuse and patriarchal behavior in our society, and in left organizations including our own. We don't have easy answers, but we've found it helpful to study the nature of abuse under capitalism and different responses to it. Here is the syllabus for an abuse study that some U&S members and friends are currently test-driving in several cities, based on interest. We hope other groups will take up the reading list, adapt it to their needs, and use it to craft responses to abuse in our movement and lives.

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
