This PAST Sunday, October 11th! 1-4pm - Really Really Free Market! No money. No trades. Everything is free. With pandemic protocols- let's also share community care!
We all have something to share with each other... and to receive with gratitude is also a gift. This gathering is not about the "stuff" we give and take, but more about how we can care for each other.
You probably know all the usual protocols to take because of the pandemic - please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Be prepared to wait in a short line if there is a good amount of people already in the space.
This event is also in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples Day of Rage Against Colonialism. Patches and Shirts will be screen printed on site and given away on a sliding scale. ALL monetary donations will go to the Amah Mutsun to support them with their fight to protect Juristac on their stolen ancestral homelands. More info at http://www.protectjuristac.org
If you have a donation, we encourage you to bring it anytime between 12-1. We will take donations until 2:30, at which point we not guarantee that we can take them.
This market is based on a gift-economy... capitalism NO! But come to the Really Really Free Market to give away your old stuff and/or get new-to-you stuff. Bring your special items that you don't use but can't throw away (ex. clothes, toys, art supplies, instruments, books and zines...your free box). Come and take what you can use and say thanks!
We will have folks to check in with as you arrive. First come first served, space may be limited. Don't be late and be sure to check in with the organizers when you get there. If you bring things, you are expected to take away whatever is left at the end of the market.
And a wonderful and warm Sunday afternoon over 100 came through... 15 people in the courtyard at a time! And over $500 was raised for the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band. Stay tuned for info about another Really Really Free Market next month!!!
