Greetings all! It's been awhile since our last SubRosa announcement post - and we're still here! A year ago we had our last show at SubRosa (here's website post from a year ago about happenings at SubRosa - http://www.subrosaproject.org/2020/03/thurs-show-fri-art-openings-at-subrosa.html). And a few days after we decided to shut down because of the spreading pandemic, before the shelter in place was declared in Santa Cruz - little did we know how long and deep an impact the COVID-19 pandemic would have on us all. Now more than ever we are committed to community health and well being and to nurturing a community space to learn and grow and explore and share - for relationships beyond measure, in the here and now.
And here's some information about some happenings at SubRosa

-This Sunday! 11 - 2pm - Really Really Free Market! No money. No trades. Everything is free. With pandemic protocols- let's share community care!
We all have something to share with each other... and to receive with gratitude is also a gift. This gathering is not about the "stuff" we give and take, but more about how we can freely give and receive from each other. This market is based on a gift-economy... capitalism NO! -On Saturday! At downtown clocktower. March 13th will mark one year since Breonna Taylor was murdered by the police state. Bring your loved ones, and also offerings such as flowers, artwork, candles, photos, etc. Please wear masks and practice physical distancing. Rest In Power Breonna. ❤️

SubRosa is part of the Hub Community Center, in downtown Santa Cruz, CA which is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.
