As local officials push for a "back to normal", we will not let the working class be sacrificed under COVID. Social distancing and masks are mandatory. Please DM for any accessibility concerns!

Also wonderful to be outside on May Day - to appreciate the changing of the season,
spring blossoms and the company of friends (human and in other forms).

And soon after... Thursday May 6 at 4pm the Bike Church is hosting a WTF group ride.

WTF means women, trans*, femme and this ride is for everyone who identifies as such or as non-binary, genderqueer, etc. Basically all y'all who aren't cis-men and who are so often decentered in mechanic and cyclist worlds. The ride will be on roads, and 10 miles or less round trip. Before the ride, 1-3pm, WTF mechanics will be at the shop to help you fix or tune up your bike for the ride.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out https://www.instagram.com/thebikechurch/   This event is happening during #bikemonth which is organized annually by @ecology_action.

SubRosa is a collectively run anarchist community space, a place to meet others and challenge our assumptions and act on our passions. We strive to create a vibrant environment for events, classes, meetings, organizing, performance, art, studying and more. SubRosa also offers radical literature for sale, and houses the Anarchist Lending Library. We welcome folks to join us in fostering an environment free from coercion, sexism, queer&homophobia, racism, ableism and other hierarchies.

SubRosa is part of the Hub Community Center, in downtown Santa Cruz, CA which is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.

Do you want to join SubRosa in solidarity with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band?

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
