And before the show…

Saturday October 1st, 5pm - πŸš¨πŸ‚πŸŒ½ Join us to celebrate the end of this summer's Free Skool Santa Cruz with a Fall Harvest Potluck this Saturday, Oct. 1, 5-7 p.m., SubRosa Courtyard. πŸš¨πŸ‚πŸŒ½

How's this a harvest potluck? First, you're invited to prepare a dish that includes at least one item you or someone you know personally harvested! No pressure though - please come even if you haven't prepared a dish.

This is a chance to harvest some of the connections we've made with each other through roughly 50 different classes in the past three-plus months. Teachers and students are invited to share about their experience in their class(es). We'll also have a little conversation about what comes next for Free SkoolπŸ‘€πŸ‘€ Feel free to bring a plus-one or plus-two. Hope to see you there! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

SubRosa is a collectively run anarchist community space, a place to meet others and challenge our assumptions and act on our passions. We strive to create a vibrant environment for events, classes, meetings, organizing, performance, art, studying and more. SubRosa also offers radical literature for sale, and houses the Anarchist Lending Library. We welcome folks to join us in fostering an environment free from coercion, sexism, queer&homophobia, racism, ableism and other hierarchies.

SubRosa is part of the Hub Community Center, in downtown Santa Cruz, CA which is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.

Do you want to join SubRosa in solidarity with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band?

Comments on the SubRosa website are fully moderated. As a collective, we agreed that the purpose of the website was to promote SubRosa, not to provide an online place for lively and invigorating debate. We hope that the space itself is where conversations on the nature of anarchism and local projects will take place. That said, we occasionally approve comments that are informative or reflect a viewpoint we feel it is important for website visitors to read.
